Girly vs. Edgy: Lace and leather

Some people may think we can only use button up smart shirts for office looks or more dressed up looks. Wrong! Recently, street looks and bloggers have been layering their camis and crop tops over other t-shirts, button up shirts and long sleeves.

Who would've thought to add this lacy bustier over a white cotton button up would work together? Definitely not me. I'm slowly starting to step out of my comfort zone with dressing and looks. Sometimes I ask somebody how something looks and I get a weird look, but then again they don't see what I see.😝Don't be afraid to try new things and mixing unexpected pieces together.

Because my look was very monochromatic and neutral toned, I wanted to add this faux snakeskin print clutch in a red brick color to give it a pop. I like that the bag brings in the dark colors of the look but it isn't so bright that it throws off anything. This cute bag was from Mango in their end of year sale in December.

I've been dying to wear these OTK boots and alas, I was able too! They're from Steve Madden and the heels are what sold me on them. They're comfy because of the thicker block heels and it has a zipper half way through the back which makes life 10x easier to put these on.

My leather jacket is from h&m and so are my jeans, button up and the lace crop top. I think this leather jacket is the best fit ever on me. It was under $50 and the faux leather is so smooth. The details are exactly what I wanted and I almost paid way more on one from Zara, but H&M came through.
I absolutely loved the way this edgy look was a bit broken up by the lacy bustier/bandeau style crop top. This layering trick works well for girls who want to use this type of crop top without showing skin and being covered up. Here are the links to things I can find online:
